Pricing and the free tier
The short version: DMARCmetric charges per domain, never per message. Free covers 1 domain with 30 days of history, forever. Starter is $40 per domain per year — $3.33 per domain per month billed yearly — or $4 per domain per month month to month, with unlimited domains and a full year of history. Larger fleets run on Scale, arranged over email. The full comparison lives on the pricing page.
The three plans
- Free — $0, forever. 1 domain, 10,000 messages a month, 30 days of history, real report volume (never sampled), plain-English summaries, named senders, GeoMap, email alerts and the free authentication tools. No credit card, no trial clock.
- Starter — $40 /domain /yr ($3.33 /domain /mo), or $4 /domain /mo month to month. Unlimited domains, a full year of history, failure forensics (RUF), email alerts and scheduled digests, and priority support. Starts with a 14-day trial (card required at checkout).
- Scale — custom. Unlimited domains and hand-tailored onboarding and invoicing for agencies and MSPs. Contact [email protected]. White-label, a REST API and SSO are on the Scale roadmap — we don't sell them as if they had shipped.
How per-domain billing works
Your subscription simply follows your domain count:
- Adding a domain raises the subscription by one domain slot, prorated by Stripe from the day you add it.
- Deleting a domain credits the unused time back the same way.
- A minimum of one domain slot is billed while a subscription is active — deleting your last domain doesn't create a $0 subscription.
- We never meter your mail volume. A domain sending 50 messages a month costs exactly the same as one sending 5 million. Volume-based tiers are someone else's game; we deliberately don't play it. (Free has a reading limit of 10,000 messages a month — see below — but it is a limit on the plan, never a charge.)
Checkout and card management run on Stripe; invoices come from Digiport OÜ. We never see or store your card number.
The 14-day trial
Starter starts with a 14-day free trial — a card is required at checkout. Stripe holds the card but does not charge until the trial ends. If you cancel before the 14 days are up, you are not charged; after that, the subscription renews automatically. One trial per workspace. Cancel anytime from the billing portal — receipts land in your inbox and every invoice is available there too.
What happens at a limit
Here is exactly what a limit does — and does not — do:
- Being over the limit alone never switches anything off. On Free, the 1-domain limit is enforced when you add a domain: a second domain is blocked at that moment and you get an upgrade prompt, not an error. Domains you already have keep collecting reports; you just see a warning.
- Collection pauses in one case only: if you had a paid subscription and it ends. Then every domain except your oldest stops collecting new reports — the oldest stays fully active — and the workspace returns to the Free plan, so dashboards read the Free 30-day window even though older report data is still stored. No report data is deleted, and subscribing again reactivates those domains and reveals the stored history immediately.
- On Free, dashboards show the most recent 30 days; on Starter, a full year. Upgrading instantly reveals history that is still stored — see How long is my data kept? for the exact windows and the purge grace period.
- Starter supports unlimited domains; Scale adds custom onboarding, invoicing and white-label options — email us when you need those.
The Free plan's 10,000 messages a month
Free reads up to 10,000 messages per calendar month, counted across the domains on your account and reset on the 1st (UTC). It is the same volume PowerDMARC's free plan allows, on the same one domain — with three times the history.
Two things it is not:
- It is not a charge. Nothing about your volume ever moves a bill, on any plan. This is a
limit on what the free plan reads, not a meter on what you send.
- It is not a stop on collection. Past 10,000 we keep receiving and storing every report your
domain sends. Your authentication picture stays complete underneath; what pauses is your ability to read the rest of that month. Upgrade and the whole month is there, already collected — nothing has to be re-sent and nothing was lost.
That second point is deliberate. A DMARC report is a count, not a list of messages, so a month we stopped collecting halfway through would not be "less data" — it would be a biased sample, and the traffic we declined to store could be exactly the traffic that was failing. Recommending a policy change on that basis is how a monitoring tool gets someone's legitimate mail blocked.
Starter removes the limit entirely: unlimited mail volume, never metered.
Why this price point
From $3.33/domain, DMARCmetric is priced per domain with a year of history — no bundle to buy into and no message cap to outgrow, and no volume metering on any paid plan. That is not a loss-leader gimmick; it reflects two beliefs:
- DMARC monitoring is an automation problem, not a consulting engagement. Parsing XML, grouping senders and tracking alignment are things software should do cheaply at scale — so the price should look like software, not like a retainer.
- The people who most need DMARC are often the least served by enterprise pricing. Small businesses, agencies managing many client domains, and founders protecting a product's sending domain deserve published numbers they can budget against.
Self-serve plans have published prices and a checkout button; only the custom Scale plan involves talking to us.
